About Us

We are a family run business rural to Christchurch in lovely New Zealand.  If like us, you are looking to reduce your consumption of single use, throw-away items, to reduce the number of plastics and chemicals that you and your family are in contact with, for health and environmental reasons then, you have come to the right place!

In recent years, questions have been raised with increasing regularity regarding the consequences for our health and, the environment from the plastics and synthetics used in the manufacture of a multitute of our everyday items.  For example, with regards to plastics - We eat and drink out of plastic, wear it, keep our food in it, sit on it, our children play with it etc. etc. etc. Items that surround us and are so everyday – electronics, household appliances, drink bottles, toothbrushes, toys, food packaging, storage containers, furniture, furnishings, clothes, computers etc. Everyday items that seem so harmless and innocuous. But are they really? 

While it is always difficult to separate out the facts many of us it seems, are already thinking very carefully about what we and our family are using and consuming; wanting to preserve health, whilst doing the right thing for the environment too. The concerns are becoming too frequent to ignore! And we can make simple changes in our everyday living, reducing our consumption, looking for sustainable alternatives, making thoughtful and deliberate choices about what we buy. Re looking at traditional materials too, such as wool. cotton, wood, stainless steel, glass, ceramic, which plastic and synthetics have replaced in most of their former uses.

Our intention is to provide a one-stop shop for all those personal and everyday items that are reusable, offer an alternative to plastic, and which use natural ingredients rather than synthetic ones. Offering information and inspiration too, helping you to make the right, thoughtful consumer choices for you, your family and the environment. (We realised from our own experience how many hours can be spent searching the Internet for eco friendly and healthy alternatives not readily available in shops. Mounting postage costs too as items are found but often not in the same place!)

You will need to bear with us. It is early days yet and our shop is new. We have a heap of ideas for products to include but alas, this all takes time.
